GRAPE - BonardaCOUNTRY - Argentina
VINTAGE - 2016
14% abv
750ml
Intense red-violet colour.
On the nose we get Ripe black fruits, such as blackberry, blueberry and plum, accompanied by notes of sweet spices (vanilla and cinnamon),
dark chocolate, toffee, leather and buttery, mineral and empyreumatic touches.
This wine has great body and volume in the mouth, impeccable structure, built by the perfect balance between firm and ripe tannins that dry the mouth until the fresh and gastronomic acidity comes into play and promotes a succulent salivation
Another good reason for you to invest in at least one bottle of this wine is its grape, Bonarda.
The variety is still not very widespread in Argentina, but it has been showing delicious results – it is worth checking out!
It was once the most planted grape variety in Argentina, being surpassed by Malbec in the 1990s, but currently it still occupies the second position.
There was much speculation about its origins, and until recently producers believed it was a clone of Bonarda Piamontose.
However, after DNA analysis in 2008, it was proven that the grape variety is identical to the French Douce Noire.
