Róisín Curley Saint-Romain 2023 is a Chardonnay sourced from the organically farmed Le Jarrons vineyard in the elevated Saint-Romain appellation of the Côte de Beaune.
Curley employs meticulous grape selection and low-intervention winemaking, with slow fermentation followed by an extended élevage in seasoned barrels.
The 2023 was produced in exceptionally limited quantities, reinforcing the artisan nature of the wine.
The 2023 Burgundy vintage produced generous, ripe Chardonnay, while Saint-Romain's higher altitude and cooler conditions helped preserve the freshness and acidity essential to fine white Burgundy.
The nose combines lemon zest, white peach and honeysuckle with subtle notes of brioche, hazelnut and oak.
On the palate, crisp green apple, pear and citrus are wrapped in a gently creamy texture, balanced by vibrant acidity and a distinctive mineral, saline character.
The finish is long and refined, with the oak likely to integrate further with bottle age.
Pair with grilled scallops, lobster, roast chicken, turbot, salmon, creamy mushroom dishes, Comté or Brie de Meaux.
Enjoy now with a short decant or cellar for further development.
